Biography
The Catechists band was born in 2010 as a new project of Italo “The Cardinal” (voice and guitar of the black metal band Black Flame), Snake (former Black Flame bassist) and Peps.
During the following years the first songs were written and arranged, and the first live performances alternating different versions of the songs in acoustic. In the summer 2011 Snake left the band after the recording of the debut album Cleaning Under Sunshine and will be replaced by “Der Gonzo” as new bassist.
In 2015 the band released the second self-produced album Time to Survive with a much more professional record than its previous album. This album was produced with a special and very “old school” production work with drums parts without editing and guitar/bass records via analog sources.
During the first months of 2018 The Catechists release new Ep titled Roots in the Sand. It was recorded and mastered in Tortonia Studio and containing five unheard songs.
Currently the band is working on the new official video-clip and on the new release.
The new album titled: Faded away…Rust and strings is ready to be released in spring 2020 under Tortonia Records. It is an acoustic project that includes 5 tracks of pure and rough rock blues with dark country influences.
